Arrear 2022: Golu rapper Baker Boy dominates Music Awards with five wins

Amyl and the Sniffers win group of the year while Tones And I wins song of the year at the first in-person ceremony since 2019

Another First Nations act won breakthrough artist this year: King Stingray, a six-piece surf rock group from the Northern Territory with Yolŋu members.

Bundjalung soul singer Budjerah, who accepted the Michael Gudinski breakthrough artist award last year in an emotional speech, won best R&B release for his EP Conversations.

Genesis Owusu channeled Game of Thrones in a luxurious fur coat and a red mohawk.

Since breaking out in 2017 as the winner of a competition for emerging artists hosted by Triple J Unearthed and the National Indigenous Music Awards (Nima), Baker has gained significant recognition.
